Mersin State University was founded on July 3, 1992 in the province of Mersin. The bus trip from Mersin to Istanbul takes 10 hours 15 minutes, and by plane - 1 hour 20 minutes.

This university managed to take 12th place with 38.2 points in the ranking of "The Best World Universities in Turkey". It was also stated that the university is in 827th place in the world ranking.

Teaching at the university will be in Turkish. To date, 29,391 students have been trained at the university. The university has 13 faculties, 5 institutes and 12 secondary schools. During the training, the student has the opportunity to earn extra money in nearby shops and hotels in his spare time. If there is no certificate of knowledge of the Turkish language, then after entering the university, an internal exam is conducted and, accordingly, enrolled in the preparatory course.

Reception of documents starts from May and lasts until mid-September.

Laboratories

All faculties and schools of our university have 41 computer classes and 1940 computers in these laboratories. Our students can use the computer labs available in all academic departments for free, in addition to the course applications. At the Mersin Vocational School language lab, general English and professional English courses are given for all programs.

Library

The central library of our university has a capacity of 350 people on the Çiftlikköy campus on an area of 3000 m², constantly being updated and developed. In addition, 18 computers in the library provide information scanning services and access to library resources via the Internet.

IT activities

Internet technologies, which are integral elements of everyday life and the world of science, are actively used at our university. Internal networking and the Internet are used on 3,600 computers across all of our campuses and colleges. Our students have the ability to register, update and view their grades online through the Student Information System (OBS); Our teachers have the opportunity to approve the registration for the course and give grades. The Staff Information System (PBS) is a program where all university staff can keep track of their personal and staff information.

Athletic facilities

The University of Mersin, which is dedicated to the support of sports and athletes, as well as educational activities, has achieved many successes in the world and throughout the country. Our students and teachers can prove themselves in various sports such as taekwondo, basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, tennis, archery, athletics, step, salsa, and announce the name of our university in our country and in the world.
