What could be better than a clean, bright space of your own home on the coast of the azure Mediterranean Sea. This is achieved thanks to panoramic windows. Nowadays, this has become available not only for large houses, but also for the smallest apartments. What a blessing that many developers keep up with the times, and do not only sell the sea.
Modern panoramic windows in the form in which we know, and which are loved by many, appeared in France in the romantic Renaissance era.
Windows were always installed on the ground floor and led to the garden or terrace. The opening was framed in large wooden or metal frames. At that time in history, the glass sheet could not yet be created in large sizes, and therefore there were many small windows in the sashes, the so-called segmentation.
Currently, panoramic windows are called differently: frameless glazing, French windows (do not forget where they came from))), metal-plastic glazing. In fact, such different formulations are due to two reasons: a misunderstanding of the term and an advertising gimmick.
The advantages of this glazing:
- significant visual increase in area. the absence of opaque walls makes even a small room huge.
- design view.
- from the outside, the building of the villa merges with the surrounding landscape, which is liked by almost everyone.
- the physiological feature of our eyes. We are accustomed to the full spectrum of sunlight; no state-of-the-art lighting fixtures can completely replace it.
Panoramic windows also have disadvantages:
- increase in heat losses.
- high price
- the most expensive glass is triplex or armored, the cost of which increases significantly.
- the complexity of leaving.
- limited possibilities of furniture arrangement. It will not work to put cabinets along the windows, the same situation will be with the beds.
- some people are afraid of open spaces.
